Ceres Tag has been included in a recent round of grants to promote Australian innovation.
Minister for Industry, Science and Technology Karen Andrews said seven businesses will share in $2.8 million in the latest round of Accelerating Commercialisation grants.
Ceres Tag will be receiving $700,000 in funding to to commercialise smart ear tag technology to provide whole-of-life traceability of livestock.

Globalstar, Inc., today announced its partnership with Ceres Tag, a leader in livestock information systems using a proprietary smart ear tag, to conduct its final stages of commercial large-scale trials for the provenance and management of livestock.

The GPS and Bluetooth-enabled e-tags, which form part of a complete livestock information platform, rely on low-earth orbit satellites to allow farmers access to real-time information about the location, welfare, and behaviour of individual animals remotely, and detect the condition of the paddocks their cattle are grazing on.
